KENNEDALE -- Theresa Kaye “Teri” Cates, 50, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014.
Memorial Service: 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel in Kennedale.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers and plants, the family requests donations to your local animal shelter or the Arlington Humane Society. Teri had a soft heart and a special love for stray animals, having adopted many in her life.
Teri was born in Plattsburg, NY on April 14, 1964, the daughter of Richard Lemons and Pamela Saffer. She married Bruce Cates on June 30, 1988. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1982. Although she didn't have any natural children, she loved Bruce's children and her many nieces and nephews like they were her own. She also had a great love for four legged “kids” all of whom were precious to her too. She was witty, fun, creative, caring, amazingly energetic, and an awesome cook. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.
Survivors: Husband, Bruce; step-children Tiffany Cates and their children Colton and Lexi Davis; Crystal Anderson husband Andrew, nephews Wyatt, Owen and Garret. Mother, Pamela Lemons; sister Patty Tennes and husband Rodney, nieces Haley and Rachel, sister Lisa Parris and husband ‘Frenchie, sister Tina Pierson and husband Skip Pierson and nieces Jennifer and Monica.
