Thomas Golden

d. February 10, 2015

ARLINGTON -- Thomas Golden passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, just 12 days shy of his 53rd birthday. Both his son and daughter spent the night by his side, and he passed peacefully in the early hours of the morning.
Memorial service: The family will have a memorial barbecue in his honor Sunday, Feb. 22.
Peace be with you, Tom. We love you madly.
Tom was born Feb. 22, 1963, in Faribault, Minn. He was one of five children. He attended Syracuse University in Syracuse, N.Y., where he played baseball. He also served in the United States Army as a military policeman, and earned the designation of expert sniper -- an elite expert rifleman qualification.
Tom was an avid sports fan, with a special love for baseball. Whether he was rooting for the home team or for his beloved Minnesota teams, he was passionate and loud with an infectious enthusiasm that touched everyone around him. He was an avid music lover -- and was happiest in the summertime, listening to his music poolside at top volume. Tom loved his family and the life he built with Cyndi, Amy and Lucas. He shared a special bond with his brothers, Pat and Jim, and would spend hours talking on the phone to them and laughing his trademark laugh. He was a loving and protective father, grandfather and brother -- always ready to listen and give advice. He had a big personality and an even bigger heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Darlene Golden; and a sister, Debbie Duechene.
Survivors: His older brother, Pat Golden of Arlington; older sister, Kay Gray and husband, Rich, of Minneapolis, Minn.; younger brother, Jim Golden of Coon Rapids, Minn.; daughter, Amy McGehee and husband, Michael, of Kennedale; son, Lucas Connell and wife, Lori Anne, of Arlington; nieces, Mara Gray, Ella Gray, Jennifer Golden and Tera Golden; and granddaughters, Charley and Lucy McGehee of Kennedale.
