Mr. Thomas Kemper

Thomas B. (Tom) Kemper, 80, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012.
Graveside: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or to your favorite charity in Tom's name.
Tom was born March 10, 1932 in Clyde, TX, to Lennox T. and Agnes E. Kemper. He moved to Ft. Worth in 1943, and considered Ft. Worth home. He was career USAF serving in Korea as a Radio and Electronic Warfare operator on B-29's, flying 31 and a half combat missions. After Korea he served on B-50 aircraft at Walker AFB, NM and on a B-36 Crew at Carswell AFB TX. He was stationed at Carswell AFB when Tom met and married his wife Jean (of 56 years). In 1957, Tom retrained as an Air Traffic Controller. He served in that capacity at Dyess, TX; Osan, Korea; Altus, OK; Bitburg, Germany; Udorn, Thailand; then back to Carswell where he retired from the military. Tom sold appliances at Sears for 22 years, and then part-time for Thompson's appliances. Tom's hobbies were travel, photography, and cooking. He and Jean traveled the world over. They went to Alaska, Europe, Russia, China and the Far East, New Zealand/Australia, South America/Cape Horn and through the Panama Canal. Many destinations were visited multiple times. Their last trip was to the Galapagos Islands in May of 2011.
Survivors: Wife, Jean; daughter, Kathy; and son, Kurt; (Radonna); granddaughter, Brittany Owens (Daniel) and one great-grandchild.
