Thomas Potts

Thomas Oden Potts, 69, passed away on April 21, 2023. He was born on November 24, 2023, in Paris, Texas.

Tommy grew up in Arlington and went to Sam Houston High School.   He retired from General Motors, a member of the UAW, did subcontract work for Yanfeng and did volunteer work for the Dalworthington Gardens Police Department.  He loved music, played guitar for years with a group of his friends.  In his earlier years, he was an avid CB Operator with the handle “Summer Breeze” and loved photography as well.  He was blessed with so many talents, when he decided to do something, he put his all into it to make it perfect.

Tommy never had children of his own, he said he could love and spend time with his nieces, nephews and step-sons giving them all his love.  For those that had Tommy in their lives knew how loving, devoted, kind, generous, and funny he could be.  It is difficult in a few words to describe such a wonderful guy!  Tommy left many cherished memories and stories for all of us to remember for a lifetime.

He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Paul Potts, nephew Jerry Potts Jr, father and mother-in-law; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jackson and sister-in-law Kathy Wilson.

He is survived by his wife Kadena Potts, sister and brother-in-law Celia and Kenneth Huff, brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Donna Potts, stepsons; Jason, Jeremy and David Rudd, brother-in-law Charles “Chuck” Jackson, four nieces; Lucretia Potts, Patricia Payne, Anita O’Neal, and Kari Wilson; two nephews; Mark Huff and Eric Wilson, four grandsons and one great granddaughter, several cousins and numerous friends.
