Verrena Luce, 96, passed away on September 30, 2021 at Heritage Trails in Cleburne, Texas. She was born on July 12, 1925 in Purdon, Texas to Eaven Azer and Eunice Woodard Reeder.

She grew up in Jester, Texas and graduated from Purdon High School in Purdon, Texas in 1944. She married Joseph Luce on November 4, 1945 in Corsicana, Texas. They were happily married for 62 years. She attended Fort Worth Beauty School in Fort Worth, Texas where she received her cosmetology certificate. Verrena was a member of Trentman Baptist Church (now Pleasantview Baptist). She enjoyed crafting, sewing, painting, visiting family, and playing board games with her son Stanley.

Verrena was preceded in death by her parents, Eaven & Eunice; husband, Joe; son, Stanley; brothers, Monroe, Jerry, JF, Thurl; sisters, Letha, Gledus, and Wanda.

Verrena is survived by her brother, Ronny; daughter-in-law, Charlotte; grandchildren, Joey, Candace, Denise, Mark; 10 great-grandchildren; and lots of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held at Pleasantview Baptist Church, 4400 Pleasantview Dr, Arlington, TX 76017 at 10:00, October 13, 2021. A visitation with family and friends will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd, Kennedale, TX 76060 from 6:00-8:00, October 12, 2021.  Burial will follow at DFW National cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
