Wallace Gillespie

Haltom City

Wallace Gerry Gillespie of Haltom City, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018.  Gerry was born on August 20, 1937 in Fort Worth, Texas.  He is preceded in death by his father, Wallace Gillespie, his mother, Gladys Gillespie, and his sister, Judy Howie.

Gerry graduated from Poly Tech High School in 1955 and worked for AT&T for over 35 years.  He was a member of the Mansfield Masonic Lodge.  He enjoyed working in his shop on wood projects and made several pieces for his granddaughter including a cedar hope chest and a cedar rocking horse.  He enjoyed reading the newspaper, working in the yard, and fishing.  He loved music and was a great dancer!

Gerry is survived by his wife, Oleda Gillespie, his son Greg Gillespie and wife Lisa of Winberley, Texas; and son Wayne Adams and wife Patty of Fort Worth, Texas.  Gerry is also survived by five grandchildren:  Madeleine, Victor, Jonathan, Ashley and Casey; and four great-grandchildren: Everette, Casper, Nola and Odette.  He took great delight in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their achievements.  He had many friends in addition to his family and will be dearly missed by all.

Services will be held at the Emerald Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park at 500 Kennedale Sublett Road in Kennedale, Texas on Monday, June 18, at 10:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Parkinson’ Foundation Miami, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
