William Edwin Stipp, a loving father and proud grandfather, was born April 25, 1927, in Burnet and was married to his high school sweetheart, Sallie Levingston Stipp, for almost 61 years. A kinder person has never walked this earth. He had a heart first for his heavenly Father, next for his family and then for all of his friends, and everyone who crossed his path became his friend. After years of working in the aircraft industry, he retired from Bell Helicopter in 1987. Upon retirement, he and his wife enjoyed camping and were involved in the RV MAPS home mission program of the Assemblies of God, building and renovating churches and colleges across the United States. For many years he and his family faithfully attended Rockwood Park Assembly of God in Fort Worth, where he was actively involved in church leadership. After moving in recent years, he and his wife became devoted members of new Bethel Assembly of God in Arlington.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
