William Lee "Willie" Lanier, 89, of Bedford passed away, Friday, July 1, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Friday in Emerald Hills Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home Chapel.
Willie was born March 25, 1927 to Oscar Wilbur Lanier and Mary Ester in Dade City, Florida. He proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII serving on three separate ships during his time. He was member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 plus years. Willie was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed woodworking and could build anything with wood without a blue print.
He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.
Willie was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou Purser and brother, David Lanier.
Survivors: Wife of 68 years, Katie Jo Lanier; daughter, Janet Lundquist and husband, Wayne; son, Mike Lanier; granddaughter, Rebecca J. Alrashdan; brothers, Ron Lanier and Jack Lanier.
