William Brantley Pelley, 75, passed away December 14, 2024 at Baylor Hospital. He was born in McAlester, Oklahoma on August 24, 1949, at St. Mary’s Hospital to Murnie and Lorena (Brantley) Pelley
In 1967, Bill graduated from McAlester High School. One week later, he enlisted in the US Navy where he proudly trained and worked as a Navy Corpsman and EENT Tech aboard the USS Wasp where was ultimately promoted to HM2 (E5)
While on board the USS Wasp, he traveled above the Arctic Circle which gained him membership into the Royal Society of Arctic Blue Noses.
In 1971, Bill proudly received an honorable discharge from the US Navy..
William served on the board for AmSECT for 12+ years , completing his term as president, where he was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel.
Bill worked as a clinical perfusionist for 18+ years which led to his eventual promotion as VP of Clinical Operations of a large private company. During his professional career, he authored and Coauthored 15 peer reviewed published papers and won Best 1st time presenter at an annual AmSECT conference
In 2015, Bill’s career path brought him to Children's Heath in Dallas where he Served as the Director of Solid Organ Transplant where he was proudly employed at the time of his death.
William leaves behind his wife of l2 years Valerie (Keoppen) Pelley, Children Robert (Luis) Curbelo of Leander, Texas, Kris (Kate) Pelley of Wake Forest ,North Carolina and Michele Pelley of Allentown, PA.
Brother to Stan Pelley of Oklahoma. Bill served as the legal guardian to his brother-in- Law Louis Keoppen who pre-deceased him in August. 2024
In lièu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to help with final arrangements costs and medical bills.
