Willie Frances Hill was born on January 12,1928 in Athens Tx to Albert Lee Stone and Bessie B Boyd in their home out in the country. She is the youngest of 5 children. She had 2 sisters, Della Gotthardt of Portland Or and Verna B. Ballard of Fort Worth Tx. She had 2 brothers , Herman Stone of Cleburne Tx and John D. Stone of El Paso which had all preceded her in death. Frances was united in marriage to Jackson M Hill in Fort Worth TX on May 10, 1947. They were married for 47 years and 1 day when he went to be with the Lord. With this union, they had 2 daughters, Linda Nell Jones of Dublin Tx March 2, 1949 and Sherry Diane Layne of Kennedale May 4, 1956 which preceded her in death. Frances started life out picking cotton before and after school with the family. When she left school at the age of 15 she began working at the movie house downtown Fort Worth Tx. Frances then went to work with Montgomery Wards on West 7th St until 1962 when she began her career Kennedale ISD serving many children for 40 years. She became the supervisor after 18 years. She retired in May of 2002 to stay home and take care of her grandson. Her life ended when 2 strokes took her on December 12, 2017.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Nell Jones of Dublin Texas and preceded in death by son in law Freddie Jones , 2 granddaughters, Deanna Turley and husband Darren of Dublin Texas, Cindy Ferguson and husband Jr of Lipan Texas, 3 grandsons Lee Jones of Dublin Texas, Robbie Layne of Kennedale Texas, and Tim Layne and Brenna of Dallas Texas. She had 5 great grandchildren, Jaclyn and Madison Turley of Dublin Texas, Brayden Jones, Lance and Lacee Ferguson all of Lipan Texas. One Great Great Granddaughter Layla Ferguson of Lipan Texas. She is also survived for one brother in law, Lewis Hill of Longview Texas and on sister in law Cathy Hill of Millsap Texas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family and many friends.
Frances enjoyed life to the fullest being a Christian and member of Covenant Life Baptist of Kennedale Texas. She enjoyed working in the Kennedale lunchrooms feeding 1000s of children, going camping, crafts, spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed watching football on the 50 yard line of the Kennedale Wildcats no matter the weather. She loved playing phase 10 with her friends daily, eating out, going to the movies, traveling the US and anything involving the grandkids. She looked forward to every summer attending all 57 Hill reunions to catch up with family with laughs and lots of food. She always had room for 1 more in her home. She never met a stranger and was the leader of our “talking family”. She always did for others no matter what. With God on her side, she always helped others.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Emerald Hills Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Adams officiating and interment will follow at Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 9:00AM at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
