Woodrow “Woody” Chapman, 81, passed away on 2, July 2022 at his home in Kennedale, TX. He was born on March 21, 1941 in Harris, Oklahoma to Ted Chapman and Gladys Bryant Chapman.
Woody grew up in Floydada, TX. He:
spent 40 years working in the cotton industry
worked for Martin Sprocket and Gear as a welder where he worked for 20 years. He retired in August 2006.
Woody married Lorraine “Mimi” Nelson in 1961 in Floydada, TX. They were happily married for 53 years. Woody enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching westerns.
Woody was preceded in death by his wife, Mimi Chapman; parents, Ted and Gladys Chapman; sister, Wanda Brewer; brothers, Thurman Chapman, Ted Chapman, Bill Chapman, and James and Evelyn Stanley.
Woody is survived by his daughter, Doxie (Dennis) Renfro of Kennedale, TX; daughter, Patty (Tom) Haynes of Alba, TX; son, Charles (Tricia) Chapman of Burleson, TX; daughter, Johnnie Sue (Shawn) Butler of Winnfield, LA; daughter, Randi Hedge of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Ruth Ray of Slaton, TX; brother, Tommy Chapman of Shallowater, TX; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and multiple nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home 500 Kennedale Sublett Road Kennedale, TX 76060 at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 7, 2022. Burial will follow at Emerald Hills Cemetery.
